On November 18, the Phase II 300,000-ton polyester project of Xinjiang Yuxin New Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yuxin New Materials") located in Alar Economic and Technological Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as "the Development Zone") successfully commenced operation at the first attempt. The polymerization unit was officially put into operation, marking the successful completion of the construction and installation phase of the project and its full transition to the trial production stage.
In March 2023, the Phase I 300,000-ton polyester fiber project was successfully commissioned. As the only under-construction polyester and chemical fiber project in the five provinces of Northwest China at that time, it completely changed the history of "no polyester and chemical fiber industry in Northwest China", connected the "last mile" from petrochemical industry to textile and garment industry, and improved Xinjiang's complete industrial chain covering PX, PTA, polyester chemical fiber, and textile and garment. The Phase II project inherits the technological advantages and green concepts of the Phase I project and adopts an advanced closed-loop production process. After reaching its designed capacity, the project will have an annual output of 300,000 tons of high-quality polyester filament yarn, with the total capacity reaching 600,000 tons. This will make the Development Zone a park with the largest scale and the most complete categories of polyester raw materials in Xinjiang and even Northwest China. It will not only expand the supply scale of polyester raw materials in the five provinces of Northwest China and provide stable raw materials for more than 60 downstream enterprises in Xinjiang, such as Haocai Textile and Xinming Textile, but also push the construction of the three 10-billion-level industrial clusters ("cotton, viscose, and polyester") in the Development Zone into a new stage of large-scale development.
After Yuxin New Materials' Phase II project reaches its designed capacity in March 2026, the Division and City (Note: Referring to the specific administrative unit in Xinjiang, such as the First Division and Alar City) will form a supply pattern of "three major raw materials" with 320,000 tons of lint cotton, 340,000 tons of viscose, and 600,000 tons of polyester. The total capacity of textile fibers will exceed one million tons, making it the region with the most complete textile raw materials in Xinjiang. Relying on this advantage, the Development Zone has added 820,000 spindles of spinning capacity, 274,000 tons of printing and dyeing capacity, and 19,000 weaving machines in the past two years. In 2024, the industrial output value of above-scale enterprises in the textile and garment industry in the Development Zone reached 16.7 billion yuan, maintaining a high growth rate of over 40% for two consecutive years. It is expected that the industrial output value of above-scale enterprises in the textile and garment industry in the Development Zone will exceed 20 billion yuan in 2025.
